Having retired as mystified, I was planning not to write any more music.

A friend shared some html code that would allow me to mix loops together in new ways-- this re-awakened my interest. I wanted to perform live, to compose live.

The album "Mass Air" was recorded live and in one take. There were no post-edits.

A main idea of the album was to use sliced-up tribal drum beats-- to cut up these beats and construct new rhythms from them.

Another was to draw parallels between tribal percussion and the frenetic pace, both of life and of technological advance, in this era.

I can't forget to thank Robin Storey for exploring some of these connections so well himself, especially with his musical act, "Rapoon".
